Hi there,
New to this! My dad got diagnosed with stage 4 mouth cancer and it’s not curable. He’s had radiotherapy bt that didn’t shrink the cancer either! I’m feeling really low for some reason today! Seeing him in pain and struggle some days just makes it so hard! I’m kind of getting annoyed about everyone saying that going to work is a good thing as it keeps your mind of it! But it really isn’t some days I want to phone in I’m at a lose as to what to think of do! Next week is he’s last round of yet another lot of chemotherapy!
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community
A cancer diagnosis affects the whole family, as you have found out, and not just the person who has been diagnosed.
It's perfectly normal to have bad days when you don't know how to cope especially when you see your dad in pain. You might like to join the supporting someone with incurable cancer group as it's a safe place to discuss your worries. If you'd like to join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens.
If you feel that talking through your feelings with someone would help then give the Macmillan Support Line a call on 0808 808 0000. It's free to and is available every day between 8am and 8pm.
I'm also tagging the Community Champions for this group src60 and as they may be able to offer you some additional words of support.
Sending a supportive ((hug))
