Hi I am wanting some help on my grandads symptoms? At min he just had his last radiotherapy and sees Dr end of June to see if it's working.
My grandad is one off them people when something is wrong he will not phone to Dr or ask for help. He tells me and I can't do much if he will not talk to anyone.
When he urinates his bowels leek with just fluid no smell and clear this happens every time. I want to know if it's side effects or if the cancer could be spreading.
Thankyou so much for reading I have had amazing help from everyone on here
. Hi Lisa. I think we have spoken before in the bladder group. Great to know you are still supporting your grandad. Radiotherapy keeps working for several weeks after treatment finishes. Pelvic radiotherapy has a big impact on the bowels and what your grandad is experiencing is not unusual. I had terrible problems with my bowels when I finished RT and it lasted for several months. I did not have any leaks, but had some near misses. The likelihood is that it is the RT causing the problems. In any case your grandad needs to let the medics know. He should have a contact number to call the nurses for advice. At least try and get him to his GP who can prescribe something to help. Us oldies can be a bit stubborn, so give him a nudge. Best wishes.
Hi rily yes we have spoke before. You helped me a lot on lasts posts which even but my grandad at ease. Every time we passes urine he leeks which is getting him down. He has been given number but they never get back to me for few weeks. I wanted to get InTouch with incontinence nurse but he keeps saying no. I worked in nursing home for over 9 years and I took care off my nana his wife till she passed away last year. I get more help asking everyone on here. The cancer has grown loads from my first post and showing shadow on lungs but they said it's not a worry yet and check in three months. Thankyou so very much for helping and can't thank you enough. This was him after last treatment made me wanna cry, even people you don't know clap amazing how people are
Hi Lisa. What a great picture and thank you for sharing. The end of long treatment can be very emotional. If grandad won't go to his GP, can I suggest you post your concerns in the Ask a Nurse section. The cancer nurses may be able to offer some advice on what may help. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
It was he was so happy it was last one, he had been going with my aunty because she had breast cancer but that day I took him because was different time to hers. Never knew u could ask the nurse on here thankyou for telling me about that, I will see what he says in morning and once again thankyou
