Hi. My Mum has terminal cancer and was given the option of chemo to possibly extend life. She took a long while to recover from the first round of chemo making the second round delayed. She has had the second round but is not recovering. The last chemo was nearly 5 weeks ago (doses were supposed to be 3 weeks apart). She has now been in hospital for two and half weeks and not only is she nowhere near well enough to leave her mental state is starting to decline. She is seeing and hearing things that aren't there. I am worried that I have lost her already and that she won't recover. Could this be the cancer spreading further?
Thanks for reading.

Hi ,
I'm sorry things don't seem to be improving, but sometimes the body goes through an initial tough time before it picks up again. The Chemo can do hideous things to the body, and these side effects are different for each individual. Have the doctors given you any more info on her progress? Any recent scans?
It is hard as we have no idea what to do to help, but the best you can do is ask questions of the doctors/nurses when you can and just be there. I know you're worried.
We are here if you need us.
Sending extra hugs.
