Hi,
I don’t really know where to start... I’m just looking for some help on how to cope with living with a cancer patient. My Dad has pancreatic cancer, which has also spread to his spine, liver & lung. He’s currently in hospital, as the pain from the tumour in his spine has got too much for him to cope with. Im really not coping very well & am having regular prolonged panic attacks... I just wanted to reach out & speak to some like minded people who will understand.
Hi , welcome to family and friends, sorry to hear about your dad and hope he is comfortable in the hospital.
Coping when someone we love has cancer is hard, if you look at I'm looking after someone with cancer you will find your emotions are quite normal and that can be really helpful. Talking or even typing on here can be really helpful, if you would find something more face to face might work better though we have a tool in your area that can help find support groups near you (or near the hospital) and you are welcome to call the helpline if that helps too.
I did a living with less stress course with Maggies and that really helped me.
<<hugs>>
Steve
