Sooo finally decided to join on here....my dad was diagnosed Oct 2017 with peritoneal cancer...not aggressive and very small, he had chemo and Feb 18 was told there was no traces of cancer in his body...had a scan in July 18 and it was back...they said from the beginning it was secondary and they didn't know where the primary was, although they had now found cancer in his small bowel....still they said it was small and not aggressive but decided more chemo was necessary. He had that over Christmas and finished end of March. He had a scan end of march and was told it was stable. 2 weeks ago he went for a colonoscopy after being so unwell for so long and losing so so much weight, they couldn't do it as it was blocked....he was rushed to hospital for scans and the cancer has rapidly spread and is semi blocking his bowel....now told there is nothing they can do, he cannot eat solids and has been given 3 months to live and sent home, with what feels like no help, no support and no bloody hope! He is 67, loves every bit of life and this is just such a shock......I feel utterly helpless as does my mum and 2 brothers...i guess I just want to connect with others and any advice...
Hi and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.
I can only begin to imagine what a shock it must have been for you all to be told that your dad's cancer is no longer treatable.
I'm haven't been in this situation, as it was me that had cancer, but I can understand how scary this is for you.
I don't really have any advice for you but replying will bump your post back to the top of the page where someone with the right experience may see it and reply.
I'm also tagging my fellow Community Champion src60 in as he looks after this group and may be able to offer some advice.
Sending a supportive ((hug))
