Hi, my Husband has recently been diagnosed with Anal Cancer, that we have now been told it has started to spread to his liver.
We were told 2 weeks ago (before we knew about the secondary cancer), that he had a 95% chance of it being removed etc and never coming back, to 2 weeks later, after another mri, that it has spread to his liver and now it cannot be cured!
We are awaiting another mri of the liver now to find out next steps, but it is very fast moving and terrifying.
This all started in April of this year so has been one hell of an emotional ride already, but this new diagnosis has just sent us over the edge.
We have 2 girls aged 9 and 11 and I'm trying to be strong for us all, but my heart is breaking into pieces underneath and I need to talk to people going through the same please xxx
Hello lovely, i was in a very similar situation to you 5 years ago but it was bowel cancer. Again we were initially told "don't worry, we can remove it and you'll live until your 90s!" To having a torso mri a week later and being told by the same (very subdued) surgeon that it had actually spread all over the liver. And when I say all over I mean too many tumours to count.
To say we were both completely devastated was an understatement, I know exactly how it floors you. My kids are the same age as yours now and their dad is still here and fighting.
Please feel free to message me and we can chat. It's a hard road but you'll be surprised at how well you can go into survival mode xxx
My kids are 13 and 11. I’m just figuring out what’s going on with me but it is definitely heartbreaking. You never think you will ever leave your kids. They are my sole purpose and mean everything to me. I know how you are feeling. Stay positive look into anything and everythIng. I believe in mind body. If we have reason to live we go farther.
Hey lovely, thank you so much for your reply. That's wonderful your husband is still strong and fighting, that fills me with lots of hope!
I would love to message you, it's so nice to connect with people feeling the same and to chat too!
The sad part about these forums though, is that you can see how many people are sadly affected by this horrible disease.
Life feels very unfair xxx
