Hi everyone,
Joined this a few months ago as I`m caring for my 79yr old Mum who has triple neg breast ca with lymph node mets, diagnosed 6 months ago. She will receive attendance allowance from next month, 6 months from diagnosis. She has gone from walking at least a mile every day, to needing a wheelchair to get across the road, the effects of chemo has almost put her off her legs. I was under the impression this allowance is backdated to the date of application, which was in February, a woman from the local council came up, completed and sent all the forms away for her, and for her blue badge. She called the AA helpline today and was told this does not get backdated to the date of application. Is this correct? Thanks for any advice.
