Where do I Start!

I just want someone to own up to the fact they have let my hubby down.

He is only getting a treatment plan tomorrow after 15 months of them treating him for something he didn't have (prostrate cancer). Now been told he has mutiple myeloma after I put in a PALS complaint.

All the test they have done are after I questioned the spread of bone pain and the prostrate treatment not helping the spread of secondary cancer in his spine.

I'm so angry, I have no faith in the urologist - he was blinkered.  They have now changed their protocols so it shouldn't happen to others!!!!

I'm guessing I am not the first or the last to have these feelings of anger, frustration, hoplessness and trying to cope with the practical things as well as what the f**k am I going to do!

Don't let them fob you off - question everything.

  • hi

    I hear you.

In my wife's case it was a gynecologist who dismissed my wife's obvious symptoms because she tested positive for a cancer marker. We went through the formal complaint to PALS and were supported in the hearing by an independent patient advocate.

I am pleased to see you say they have changed protocols but I also totally understand the feeling of "will someone just say sorry".

    <<hugs>>

  • Such a simple word but hard for them to say.

in April last year my wife had a massive lump in her ovaries and was seen by a specialist who dismissed her for 6 months. She insisted on two months. She died of ovarian cancer May this year. I have made complaints: she must have had cancer in April and has went to stage 4 under their care.
    I have received no apologies

I feel your anger and pain

  • I wonder if it was the same gynaecologist that dismissed my wife’s symptoms South Tyneside?
