Hello All, I'm lucky really. I'm 72 and my husband is 74. He's had an aggressive form of prostate cancer for 4 years. He's unlucky because his cancer has spread as a huge tumour in his pelvic region. If it had been the usual, they tell me, liver or bones, he could have lasted years yet. So chemo might give us another two years. I'm mostly pragmatic, but now and then feel tearful. It hurts to see him suffer so much, he's on oral morphine 24/7 and he's very brave. Things is, that even now his PSA is only 20. If anyone tells you that if the PSA is under 10 there's no cancer, please don't listen. Some men have very low PSA results but still, as in my husband's case, have advanced stage 4 cancer. Just feeling a bit maudlin here. Thinking of all of you going through this and sending hugs.
So sorry you amd your husband are going through this sending my regards look after each other
