Hi all,my partner has advanced lung cancer and is now on palliative care. I suppose I'm her carer even though we're not fond of the term.
In short I'm struggling.
Hi ,
Sorry to hear about your husband and hope the treatment helps to keep him comfortable for as long as possible.
Some times people do find the term carer challenging mixing it up with the idea of nurse but the advantage in the term is it can give access to services that help support us too. Perhaps the thing I had to learn with my wife's diagnosis was the idea of accepting that I needed help too. I did a living with less stress course that I found really helpful.
If we look at Your feelings when someone has cancer we can see how common these feeling are but it can be really amazing to share with others in the same situation and suddenly feel perhaps less alone.
<<hugs>>
Steve
