Hi all,
Sorry, not a great subject!
My father-in-law is suffering with poor bowel movement, not gone for 6 days. Initially our hospice contact (not McMillan by the way) told us not to give senokot yet, but today had another call saying go ahead and use it.
Read some horrendous reviews, and because his liquid and food intake is poor due to oesophageal cancer, I am worried he won’t have enough fluid to assist the senokot, anybody got any experience with this.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Regards
HI digger50
sorry to hear about your father-in-law.
Not really an area I can offer much advice on other than to say that the hospital gave my husband lactulose syrup to take when he started his oral chemo to prevent him from getting "bunged up". I believe its gentler on the stomach than senokot. There's also another product dulcoease that's supposedly quite gentle.
There may be another member of this group that can offer some further suggestions on how to ease things off.
Hope things sort themselves out.
take care
love n hugs
Wee Me xx
