My mum was diagnosed in January with oral cancer. She had major life changing surgery and 6 weeks of intense radio, it was a hard recovery with multiple follow up surgeries due to infection and stays in intensive.
sadly in last month a lump appeared on other side of her heck and it’s cancer in her lymph node. This has been a huge set back and we meet with team tomorrow to discuss. My concern at the moment is the dizziness and lack of coordination that are becoming more apparent. She can also no longer figure out how to use her phone. She is on a lot of meds but they’ve never caused this issue before. Could this be due to the cancer travelling to her brain? I feel I need to mentally prepare and be ready to support her if they think this is the case. This is so hard.
thanks in advance x
Hi
Sorry to hear about your mum and the problems she is having. I can understand the idea of wanting to be prepared but certainly I found I could easily imagine things much worse than actually happened and yet also got thrown total curveballs I never expected.
I got a lot of help by doing a living with less stress course that helped me realise I had enough to deal with on a day to day basis rather than trying to work out what might happen.
<<hugs>>
Steve
