My name is Carolyn and am caring for my son who has bcc which has gone to his lungs He has a 9 rounds of chemotherapy which at his last scan 3 months ago was shirinking this. He finished chemotherapy 4 weeks ago. he had a scan 2 weeks ago and we get his results this Thursday. Over the last 2 weeks he has taken to his bed day and night, isnt eating, so his on ensre shakes. He has muscle pains manly in his back which he has painkillers for. The GP has said these will be side effects from the chemotherapy , the muscle pain and no appetite and no taste. I am really worried he is depressed, its not like him to stay in bed, he hasnt even had a shower/ bath for over a week, which is so unlike him. Myself and my husband are at our wits end. It the first time i have posted on here, but just wondered if anyone else has been through something similarand any advice, as its heartbreaking seeing him like this as he doesn't even come downstairs now.
Hello Carolyn,
I am sorry that your post has gone unanswered until now, How is your son at the moment.
Sometimes people just need some recovery time, I totally understand why you are at your wits end at this point. I do hope things have improved over the past few days.

Hi Lowe,
My son was taken to our local hospital last night as his condition worsened and we rang the Christies hotline. He was anaemic and suspected to have pneumonia and also dehydrated even though he had drank lots of water. They have had him on fluids, iv antibiotics and oxygen. He has improved so much now, he is eating properly now after living on the Ensure drinks and his breathing and mood is so much bettter, he will be in for a few days. He had his scan results appointment tomorrow so that has to be rescheduled. I am so relieved to see a massive improvement. This journey is so hard, i hope things are going well on your side.
Thanks for your reply.
Carolyn
Oh Carolyn, how frightening that must have been for you!
I am so pleased to read that he is improving though, that is something to be very thankful for
