Not the best weekend .My husbands symptoms seem heightened since finishing his treatment of Radiotherapy Frid for OC .Much worse than last time where radio therapy didn’t really cause many I’ll effects .Obviously this course must been stronger .We are both exhausted lying down coughing /chock bringing up phlegm and keeping him and I awake most of night .He is exhausted today really low mood feeling listless and not really managing much food at all .Trying to build up calories made ice cream milkshake to cool sore throat but not managing that .Hoping his spirit will improve and positivity as it’s 0 at moment .Im supposed to be returning to work next week after 12wks working from home .hope it doesn’t sound selfish but I’m thinking it’ll be welcome distraction and thinking being able to talk with my work pals will help.Any suggestions on foods to try or pain relief as he is only having effervescent paracetamol for pain any suggestions thanks
Hi ,
sorry to hear about your husband and the effects of this treatment, lack of sleep can rapidly be a real problem and take away positivity for anyone. I can really relate to your thoughts about getting back to work though as that is something many people find they feel back in control though sometimes it can be difficult to concentrate there too. Friends sometime can get so worried they will say the wrong thing and that can result in some not wanting to say anything. Normally I might say if you do not know what to say a hug would go a long way but of course that is not happening at the moment.
When Janice was in hospital she was given quite a lot of ensure to try to help build her up and might be easier than a milkshake. His GP might be able to prescribe something as there are a number of similar type items out there and of course if between you there is nothing that works it might be he would have to go to hospital and I would hope he wanted to avoid that.
<<hugs>>
Steve
