Hello all,

I had my right hemicolectomy on 20th October, 7 days in hospital due to some problems after the surgery.  Before the surgery I was stage3 but now after I am a stage4 cancer? On the Folfox route now very soon according with the Dr's,  really terrorised with that TBH. The Oncologist told me she will ask more information to my hearth surgeon about the risks of these chemicals and my present hearth failure also she is seeking some advice from PMI Basinstoke.

Should I be starting  to considering to refuse chemotherapy.... ???  I don't know Confused

This is really terrifying,  I feel like this is the end of the line for me.

Any advice will be much appreciated from anyone.

Sorry to be so pessimistic.

  • Hi

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I haven't had the same surgery as you, I know how difficult it can be to decide on what's the best treatment to have.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this question in the bowel cancer group, where I can see you've posted before, as you'll then connect directly with others who may have faced the same decision as you.

When you have a moment, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi. I have been told surgery is not an option so they started me on ribociclil and a hormone inhibitor. My breast cancer has spread to my lymph nodes, uterus and bones . Apart from the fatigue I feel fine. Really hard to get my head around being ill. Inbetween being confused I really believe in staying positive because they are coming up with new treatments all the time and I have met many people who have been living with cancer for years. You have already been through so much, keep believing.
