Hi im Jane,

I've recently had 2 lletz procedures but just been told I now need a hysterectomy  One of the concerns is . ..  Will this be the end of it? Or will I need further treatment? How honest have they been with me? As they said removing pre cancerous cells. Which turned out to be cancer then remove more pre cancerous cells which again was cancer!! Now it's a hysterectomy.  . . So what's next??!!

  • Just write them down, but also ask other people on here who have also had the same OP etc.

There are a lot of people on here, who have had, how can I say 'a bad time' and I hope you will feel a bit more happy, by talking to them x

  • Hello

My name is Steph and I’m part of the team who look after the Online Community here at Macmillan. May I wish you another warm welcome to the site, I hope you will find it to be a safe place of comfort and support.

I was so sorry to hear of your bowel cancer diagnosis and negative experiences in the hospital. I hope that you will find it helpful to be able to share your feelings here on the Online Community.

We are all here to support you as best we can. I think Brian has already offered you some suggestions of forums you might want to join.

If you would like further support at this difficult time, or just want to talk things through with someone who is there to listen, please do contact the Macmillan Support Line. Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00email or live webchat.

I hope that Macmillan can also support you with some information and support as you have been so unhappy with your care. We say:

Many people are happy with the treatment and care they get from healthcare professionals. But sometimes mistakes happen, or things go wrong. If you are unhappy about the treatment you have received, you have the right to complain.

Getting feedback and complaints is important for health services. It lets health services and professionals understand what is working well and what the problems are. This helps services improve the care they give.

For people who use health services, making a complaint can also be a positive way of dealing with an upsetting situation. Getting an apology or an explanation of what went wrong sometimes helps people understand and cope with what happened. It may also be reassuring to know what is being done to make sure the situation will not happen again.

You can read more here or contact our Support Line for further support.

I hope this is helpful  . Please do reach out to us by email at community@macmillan.org.uk if you would like any further help using the Online Community.

Please do keep using the forums, we're all here to support each other.
