Hi there,
I'm a bit puzzled as to why I'm loosing my eyebrows and eyelashes again :( And I wonder if anyone has experienced something similar.
I finished chemo 5 months ago and I lost most of my hair, but it started growing back very quickly. After chemo, I had surgery and I'm now on Herceptin and Tamoxifen. My eyebrows and eyelashes were finally fully grown and dark as they were, but I started loosing them again last week, I'm not sure why.
Has anyone been through the same?
Many thanks for your help!
Hi Natzilla
That must be very distressing to find you're losing your eyebrows and eyelashes again. I lost mine while going through chemo but, thankfully, they grew back when my hair did.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post this question in the main breast cancer forum, as you'll then connect directly with others who have had the same treatment as you.
If you'd like to do this, just click on the link I've created and then, once you've joined the forum, you can start a new post there.
When you have a spare minute, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Natzilla, don't panic because exactly the same thing happened to me. No explanation given other than it's the effects of Paclitaxel. I came to the conclusion all the new eyelashes came through at the same time therefore had the same lifespan and were lost at the same time. They all came back much more quickly the second time and since then have renewed themselves at different times. You'll be fluttering them very soon xx
