I had a sudden diagnosis of NHL 12 weeks ago and lost my hair to chemo 7 weeks ago. I knew I'd lose it so cut my hair short and made a hair piece which is really comfy, secure and cool so that I stayed looking like me. It was still distressing to pull out clumps of hair but at least I knew I had a solution that wasn't a wig and used my own hair. It wasn't really about vanity but more about taking control when everything seemed out of control. Sometimes being bald opens up conversations you don't want to have but this way only the people I want to know about my cancer need to know. Great confidence booster at a difficult time. That's a great idea to use your own hair to make a hair piece and it looks really good! I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you join the Non-Hodgkin lymphoma forum group (link), which I think is what NHL stands for, as I'm sure the other members of the group would like to see what you've done.
