I have breast cancer and after 6 rounds of chemotherapy, mastectomy and tomorrow I have my last of 15 lots of radiotherapy.
I have been prescribed the above tablets and to my horror I have been told I have to take the letrozole for 5 - 10 years.
I know Letrozole is supposed to increase the chance of a recurrence of the cancer not occurring however the side effects of the letrozole for me are awful (nausea and sometimes actual vomiting, horrible hot flashes and sweats and strange night time weird skin crawling / itchiness although no skin rash).
The brand I have been prescribed for letrozole seems to be something called "Accord" but I am not 100% sure of that. I have seen other people mention Femera or something like that.
Is there any truth in the idea that different brands of letrozole have slightly different make up (coating etc) so I could ask my oncologist if I could try another brand (when I next speak to them - at the moment oncologists at my hospital are working on a much reduced rota it appears) to see whether the side effects are less with a different brand?

I don't have any experience with taking Letrozole to share with you but I thought I'd suggest that you also post this question in the breast cancer group, which I can see you're a member of. You'll find lots of ladies taking the drug in that group who I'm sure will be happy to share their experiences with you.
