Members of the Online Community have shared how helpful getting outside and walking has been for their mental health and wellbeing, even if it’s only a few steps around the garden or a few quiet moments in nature.

This thread is a space for anyone in the Online Community to share those moments. You’re welcome to:

  • Share when you’ve been for a walk or spent some time outside
  • Talk about how you were feeling before or after
  • Share encouraging thoughts or quotes
  • Post photos from your walk (while staying safe and not sharing identifying details)

There’s no pressure, targets, or competition. The idea is simply to encourage one another, share the small moments that help, and enjoy some of the wellbeing benefits that can come from fresh air, movement, and time spent outdoors.

  • This really is one step at a time! I’m digging out my garden path bit by bit it’s not seen the light of day for several years

  • A lovely thing to see nature at its best.

    kind Regards

  • Hi

It really was a joy to come across, an absolute sea of flowers!  I am very lucky that I have some great outdoor spaces near to where I live, all within an easy walk and each with its own character.

That's great work on the steps!!

  • Yes a dash of natures colours always boosts positive thoughts.

  • Wow Lin0506 that looks like seriously hard work.  I bought a small pre formed pond for a wildlife pond and now my grump of a husband won't dig a hole for me (too much hard work) Joy.

  • Ohh I do like wild flowers just so pretty Bouquet

  • What a beautiful looking dog Heart eyes We have a cross, half German Shepherd & half Springer Spaniel.....yes he's full of energy Smile

  • Hello

We had a border collie for 18 years before Ryder the greyhound - but as we got older we wanted a dog who requires less walking - 2 x 20 minutes, hence the retired athlete! Yes a GSD/Springer must be a bag of energy!

    Kind regards - Brian.

  • Hi Lin

Just thought I would share. My husband id the patient but I am craving nature too.

I liken myself to Edward Scissor hands I have even been in the garden at 5.00 am with sheers. The garden has never been so tidy.

  • Hi

My wife is the same with the shears!! My job is to follow behind and pick up all of the clippings - disposal of which is getting tricky again as our council still hasn’t resolved the bin strike!!!

Apparently I cannot be trusted to do the cutting back as I tend to go too far!
