Members of the Online Community have shared how helpful getting outside and walking has been for their mental health and wellbeing, even if it’s only a few steps around the garden or a few quiet moments in nature.
This thread is a space for anyone in the Online Community to share those moments. You’re welcome to:
There’s no pressure, targets, or competition. The idea is simply to encourage one another, share the small moments that help, and enjoy some of the wellbeing benefits that can come from fresh air, movement, and time spent outdoors.
Wow Dylan that view is so amazing and the sea is so clear. I grew up spending lots of time on the beach in South Africa but now live in the West Midlands so no nearby beaches. You are so lucky.

Hi, I can feel your pain. I was diagnosed in oct 2024. I had major surgery in Jan 2025 and now will probably have further surgery in September.
All I can say is keep the faith, the nhs are amazing. I've got some wonderful people looking after me. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly hard to get through but with support from family and close friends you'll hopefully make it through.
I'm the eternal optimist and always look on the bright side. Luckily for me (or unfortunately) I had a separate illness that led to my diagnosis which resulted in surgery.
I continue to keep beating the odds and will never give up.
I'm new to the online chat thing, but hopefully there are some people out there that can make us all feel a little better.
I wish you all the best in your journey, I for one am always happy to talk it through.
Wishing you the best.
