Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hey Leah,
I’m so sorry to hear how you’re feeling.
I have lung surgery next Thursday and keep getting overwhelmed by my feelings. This particular chat group has been so supportive. There is rarely long before someone will come on here for a chat, day or night.
This forum has groups for different types of cancer and I’m sure someone will post a link for you to the Brain cancer forum. I also belong to the lung cancer group and there are always people who can answer questions, tell you their experiences and listen to what’s happening for you.
I hope you’ll able to get a bit of a sleep tonight. The escape of sleep is always welcome, whenever I manage to get there.
Good evening Leahmay, and a very warm welcome to our group.
Sweetheart, so sorry to learn the reason you've joined us, and the natural anxiety over your imminent surgery, but take a pause. The surgery's a necessity to get you well again and help you to get your life back on track. It's easy for me to say, but I've seen from the closest of quarters that a life-saving procedure is not only doable but can also restore that someone's ability to lose the fear and regain eagerness for life again. Trust your doctors hon, as they'll work hard to get you on the road to recovery.
It's getting late now, but tomorrow a community champion will give you a link to the Brain cancer forum, and should you join that, you'll be able to connect with others in the same situation as yourself. I'm sure you'll find lots of support and advice from them, knowing what you're going through now.
Stay with us too though, as we'll all give you as much support as we can in the run-up to your surgery - you're definitely not alone in all this. Sending you strength and hugs sweetheart xxx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
