Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Wow! That's a rather risky way of delivering an unwanted pet. Lucky for the pup he found a good home! DogFeet

  • Maybe it's because you're getting your gear ready for the hospital visit Rose? Not quite the 'holiday' you want though sweetheart.

Everything seems to be going a bit crazy at the moment, as our posts got jumbled up! I logged out, then back in and it seems sorted now. My flipping Sky is deffo going bonkers but the new Hub's coming tomorrow and hopefully that'll sort it. Back to tinkering again, as I'm not ready to switch off yet xxx

  • Thanks Gill. I go by bus as parking mad. Yes a better day today.

Hubby has to wait for nose tube as now cant have scan as needs arm infection where canula was treating.

He's says when he gets tube it will be his cone of shame lol.

If he does have esophagus and stomach surgery l read it takes a year to get better is it true x

  • Show photo if you can get one Gill x

  • Will try, also now hubby is signed in to the WiFi some messages getting thru x

  • Aw that's so true Dingg, feeling lost in hospitals as they're big places and often impersonal. So kind of you to chat to that poor lady when you have your own worries.

This whole thing brings us together, and also brings out the best as we can truly empathise with others going through tough times.

Captain Ginga is a fabulous name for a cat xxx

  • My messages have been disappearing and then reappearing.

i misread your post Gill, I thought you meant you were getting a new hubby tomorrow Scream soz

  • I'm unsure of the recovery period of that type of surgery Dingg, but OH's is now almost eighteen months behind him and he's still got a way to go.

Everyone's recovery is different though, often depending on age and fitness levels and how drastic the surgery is. The best people to ask are his doctors, as they should be able to give you the best answers. For myself, I was glad that OH was hospitalised early as I'd have never coped if he'd have been at home. The travelling was a pain over so many months, but a few times he needed treatment on the spot and it would have been awful blue-lighting him in the middle of the night.

Try not to get stressed sweetie, as hubby is definitely in the right place at this time. Big hugs xxx

  • JoyJoy I'll stick with the one I've got Rose!

The messages have deffo gone a bit haywire xxx

  • Yes, buying things I don’t need for hospital - 3m charging cable, a triple USB plug.- I only have two things to charge!

Yesterday I had 2 adjustable back rests  delivered for when I need to sleep upright - neither are staying! I did an online chat about one and was told I would get a refund, but no need to return it……

the other one will go back tomorrow
