Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Thanks so much, better day, was saying they apparently misread scan its not spread to lymph but the next scan to be sure

Can't believe tgey got that wrong but good news for now x

    Hope you ok too x

  • They weren't there for meeting at 10am,  then l had to drive around the car park for an hour no space, drove home, caught a bus back, hubby said don't worry no one here, so another junior doc gave us an update that she over heard including they misread scan and its not in the lymph at this stage but PET scan to come.

Doc apologised staff were talking in graphic terms about hubby and she was afraid he heard and was worried, luckily he was doing a puzzle and heard not a word

Then cancer nurse rang me 5pm she's very not my type shall we say she didn't apologise or anything

  • Took to vet. £76 bill for injection and antibiotics. Still he's worth every penny.

  • Wow - that's pretty good:

I have a 6 year old retired racing greyhound (he thinks he's an athlete) and his monthly insurance premium is more than that. However we have had greys before and when something goes wrong - it's a licence to print money for the vet! They are a complex animal.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Aww, bless. Hope he heals quickly. x

  • Sounds like you’ve had a pretty stressful day! Hospital parking can be such a nightmare and then you have to pay a fortune for the privilege. Awful that your hubbys scan was misread hopefully you will have a more accurate picture when he’s had the PET scan. Let’s hope you get a different nurse next time you need someone empathetic and understanding. I loved Famous Five too …sending hugs and I hope you have a restful evening.

  • I didn't think it was bad.

  • Back from the vet. Sleeping it off.
