Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • I like the fact that although we're all here because we've come in contact with this dreadful disease, we are positive,  supportive and just chat about lots of everyday things - biscuits, birds, outings, the weather, family, nature, chocolate!

It's lovely to have those distractions and to focus on something else other than what is happening to us.

I'm very grateful for this group and have found it very helpful xx

  • Does anyone else get hit by an overwhelming tiredness. Sat in bed with my wife eating breakfast and we've both just dozed off again.

  • Absolutely.  I usually wake early-ish, take my medication and then am napping by 10am for an hour or so. Might nap in the afternoon too. You just have to do what your body needs.

I.do hope my new consultant can end this torment.
