Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

As a cancer person I have been cancer free for 4 and half years i have had problems sleeping for 1 hrs a night and when i wake up i feel i have had 8 hours sleep which is hard and I'm a bus driver but i have had a lot of problems with my health one of the worst is depression that has been very difficult to cope with and the company i work for also gave me a final written worrning it is not very help full because of the bad depression i go through
Good evening Milkey, and a warm welcome to our group.
That's great to hear you're cancer free, but how awful that your company has done that. Could you speak to your GP about the depression and how it's affecting your sleep and issues at work? Or even your HR department, as someone should be able to give you helpful advice.
Maybe others here can come up with some too. Good luck hon xxx
There's no need to leave Adz. You don't have to tell us anything you'd rather keep to yourself sweetheart, but if it's playing on your mind it might be beneficial to speak to someone who's trained to listen. I don't think anyone here has the qualifications for that, but stay hon, as we are good listeners for most things.
Sending big hugs xxx
Hey Adz, of course you'll be anxious about tomorrow love, but calm down and take a step back. It's a shame the Macmillan helpline has closed for the night, but have you got a friend or relative you could phone? It's a long shot but there's The Samaritans, and I'll bet you anything they've spoken to others in a similar situation to yourself.
I don't follow a religion either, just my own self belief, but it gets me through the hard times and the ones that more than likely will come. Whatever you do, don't dwell on tomorrow as your appointment will soon be here, then you'll know what to expect. Try to focus on something else, TV, music or even a meditation podcast. Honestly, I'm lousy at falling asleep but I've had some success with the latter over the last week.
Hoping you manage to relax sweetie xxx
