Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Cindy

I'm sorry to hear about your employer. Have you got a Fit Note from your GP signing you off work?

  • Hi Homebird

Good to hear you sounding so positive, keep up the good work.

Best wishes for your treatment and don't forget to ask for advice if needed.

  • Hi Doreen

Sorry to hear you're feeling down. I hope your call to the crisis line helped.

  • Hi Patches

The activity on this chat thread varies from day to day depending on who is around at that moment. It is normally quite a busy thread. I hope you can come back and chat soon.

  • Morning Cindy.
your employer can’t insist you go back. They also should offer a phased return. MY employers asked for a pack from MacMillan. That has been so helpful to them with regards to supporting me.
I would call the helpline and ask them to send you or your employer an information pack about returning to work.
we are all here for you. To support you and give advice if we can.
the main thing is to look after yourself and don’t feel pressured. Go back when you’re ready.
    sending love. Lucie xxx
