Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • What a great place that sounds to grow up in.  I'll have to Google it to get some pictures up.  Envious woman here...

  • I now live quite near Belfast City centre... this is my almost daily mile walk from my home, around Springfield Dam with Divis and black mountain in the distance Slight smile

  • Gorgeous scenery there.  When you say Divis, is that where the notorious flats were during the troubles?  I vividly remember watching it on the news during the 60s/70s.  You'd have probably been a bit young at that time but I hope nothing like that happens again.

On a brighter note, we've just endured a visit from the MiL.  If I tell her one thing I have to repeat it a thousand times.  I'll say no more on that.

We've got some nice areas here but it doesn't compare to what you've got.  Keep smiling xxx

  • So… told my managers today that I have cancer and they were really supportive, huge relief telling them.

  • That's really good to hear Chloe, and it must be a weight lifted from your shoulders.  I'm so pleased for you lass.  Now you can get on, without treading on eggshells, and look forward to giving out the gifts when you eventually take your leave.  Have you decided what you'll be taking in yet?  Hugs xxx

  • Divis flats are named after Divis mountain I guess... a couple of miles from where I am... although I'm not far from the peace walls here and tension around this time of year still occurs unfortunately... I'm from a Catholic protestant mixed marriage so hate all of that nonsense myself... when the football is on I'll support north and south, England Scotland and WalesSlight smile

A fence on my property was only just removed a day or two ago due to the bad storm we had in January had two IRA bullet holes in it from the troubles,  there used to be an RUC station next door at that time

  • Blimey!  It's good to know you're not partisan though, and probably just love football whoever's playing.  We're huge football fans and only live about ten miles from Elland Road, our team's ground.  There's quite a few football fans on here too.  We'd love to start going to the matches again but can't for the foreseeable due to some limitations caused by my fella's surgery.  In the meantime I'm going to get Sky installed to solve it.  Are you looking forward to the new season?  xx

  • I'm a Man Utd fan so probably not lol... I know we should hate Leeds but since I'm a fan of Chris Moyles I actually don't mind seeing them do well tooSlight smile

  • That's very sporting of you Steve, and I must admit my animosity has dwindled over the years, although I was rabid in my misspent teens, and 20s and...then I calmed down. Lol!

I know what I wanted to ask - on the picture you posted, I saw a black dog's snout right at the edge.  Is he/she yours?  I hope so as I absolutely love dogs and every other animal or creature.  (Wasps excluded!)
