Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

. The last time I tried to make some cakes was a few years ago during Covid. I just fancied a Victoria sponge but in individual portions. The larder and fridge had most of the ingredients except for eggs. I noticed an antique custard powder can at the back of a lower shelf. Putting 'use by' concerns to one side, I was attracted by the 'egg' in the title plus mentions of egg on the other parts of the label. Memory told me that the powder looks very eggy when milk is added. The baking went ahead. The end result caused me to wonder if I'd accidentally used a recipe for biscuits suitable for jaw muscle strengthening exercises. I nibbled one. Flavour was ok. My teeth were not up to the task, so the birds got a feast. It was mainly pigeons that consumed them. Next day, my car had been bombed! I gather they were not impressed.
Aw no Jamie I think the food chat has come to an end now hon. I feel for you lovely xx
On a much brighter note, it's fab to hear that little Dawson and mum are both doing well. New auntie and uncle, Rebecca and Elijah, must be purring their approval and rightly so, as they mustn't be left out.
Sending you all the luck in the world for the start of treatment tomorrow my friend and big hugs xxx
Thank you. The food chat made me miss the pies, the proper fish in batter, vinegar oh those days were good lol .
Both kitties are excited and purred away when I told them hehe. Although they tend to say hello when our step granddaughter visits and then disappear.
Yep. The day is nearly here to start the next stage of treatment. Then hopfully in 12 months time I will be ringing that bell.
I have completed the training too for the online champion. I think from next week I will get my little banner too. Its all going on this week. Give a double thumbs to the OH and say hello from me and the fur babies.
Big hugs, my new friends xx
I've passed the thumbs up on to OH and you and the kitties have got them back
You'll be fantastic in your new role, but remember to take it easy as we're here to give you support too champ. Keep the bell ringing in mind as a focus if things get a bit wobbly - I still cry happy tears at the video I took of OH ringing the bell, and can't believe how fast almost a year has gone since then. You'll get there too my lovely xxx
I truly hear what your saying about balancing support of others. But also taking time to seek the support I may and will need from time to time.
Its nice to look back at those memories even though the journey to get there was a very difficult one to ride for you both. Big hugs.
Xx
