Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

And a big thumbs up from me to both Gill and Jamie for your replies and support. I find both your comments really helpful to me at my start of this unwanted journey. Just reluctantly cancelled walking holidays for this summer that I'll not now be able to do, but hopefully will still be able to get out and walk locally. I find walking helps keep things in perspective and reduces stress.
Hi Homebird That's great news that you're going to get out and about, and not only will walking clear your mind, it'll also keep you fit and ready for your treatment.
It's so good to hear that you're in a better place now sweetheart. Keep going, we're right behind you! Big hugs xxx
I am being positive that by the summer you will be able to still go on that walking holiday. I had to cancel my dream holiday for June so really feel the pain and disappointment. I was going on my first ever cruise but advised not to travel with having immunotherapy. Gutted and I did cry alot :(
However, I have been advised to still have holidays in the UK for now and can plan it around my treatment schedule. All postive. It might not be abroad, but I am here, and its not about the place you visit as such its those we are with that makes the holiday more and sharing the relaxed time away.
I would still plan as if your going as this will give you a focus and something to aim for, and the summer is a few weeks away. I do understand the worry you 'might' not be well to do long walks but you could do short ones and being with friends might be the medicine you need. Take time and think it over :) different scenic views and fresh air. Just a thought x
I am so happy you have found Gill H and my comments useful. Its all a mind field but we are here every step, smile, skip, run and jump as you work through this path. x
