Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Morning Chloe. That's a lovely story about your grandma - her garden must have been gorgeous with roses of all hues. They're lovely flowers but those thorns...ouch! Talking of pain, did the tattoo hurt much or not so bad? I bet your grandma appreciated the gesture x
When visiting my fella whilst he was in hospital (over three months) I had four buses to catch daily but the free shuttle bus was great and saved me a fortune on fares - it also provided an opportunity to gaze out at fields and sheep on the lengthy journey. If you've got scenery to enjoy, it's really relaxing just musing out of the windows.
Have you decided on gifts to give to your friends? Anyway, have a lovely day and enjoy it fully xxx
Hi eddiel
I live close to you, so shall be prepared for some rain! I bet it’s been lovely looking after your granddaughter-I’ll be going to visit mine in Scotland in a few weeks so can’t wait for a cuddle! She makes me smile every time I see her little face on videos trying to wave to me. Hope you’re doing ok yourself.

Morning Sarah. Fantastic news about your holiday and I'm thrilled you're having a great time! Less of the 'old bones' - mature sounds more sedate. Don't think about tomorrow looming as it might interrupt your much improved zeds!
Whatever you've got planned for today, take it easy and maybe enjoy some tasty food? Oh, and the odd tipple of choice!

Oh, it’s just been lovely here, so relaxing. We’ll just have a day at our own pool today and getting some warmth in the shade. Not been doing much in the way of tippling-I’m conscious about my appointment with the diabetic nurse this week! We were given a bottle of wine in our room on arrival and it’s untouched so far!
Despite hiring a wheelchair, it’s been virtually impossible to leave the hotel-the “roads” in the village are horrendous, so we only managed one trip out for brunch and literally it was terrifying. However the staff here are wonderful and have given us a room for tomorrow as we have a late flight, at no extra charge. Life with 2 stomas can be very unpredictable so I was dreading being turfed out at 11am and hanging about until 6pm. But they’ve worked their magic to give us a room for the whole day which will be very helpful. They always say they consider us part of the family-they were all here to hug us when we arrived. It’s a very special place.
How are things going with you and hubby? I have lost track of posts while I’ve been away, but hope things are good with you both.

I had a disturbed night; it was my daughter's hen do yesterday, we went for a wonderful but huge prosecco afternoon tea in Canterbury and I think stuffing myself combined with the heat last night got to me. I made my husband get up and get the fan to cool me down . I then managed a bit more sleep.

Hi Gill, just thought I’d let you know that surgery is booked for 17th July. Feel better now that’s in place. Very odd that I feel so well and need surgery. Still feels like it’s happening to someone else . Hope you have been having some nights where you’ve slept ok ️
Ooo yes the thorns lol..
im not too far from you my local cancer hospital is Weston park in Sheffield… my scenery will be stuck in traffic and lots of buildings lol..
Im swaying towards the pocket hugs with a personalised note but I’m still looking for ideas for the moment, when I’ve had my petct and get the results from that, then I’ll have to get them ordered and the notes written out…
I don’t want to be around them for too long before I have to take the time off I know they all mean well but the looks on there faces and the questions I think will be too overwhelming..
Hope you have a lovely day too x
Ooh, Chloe-Weston Park was my hospital too! I had my chemo and radiotherapy there and my surgeries at the Hallamshire. My pet scan was at the Northern General-I was completing all the Sheffield hospitals on my bingo card. I had really good treatment and excellent care from the staff.

Morning Sarah, the rain has cleared and it's sunny again, and it's wonderful looking after the little one, she's an angel, just a little over 1yo, and a joy, she sleeps well, loves her food, playing and going out, even her own company, but her favourite things are our dogs, she's never seen one before and as she's just started walking, is trying to get to them all the time, the dogs aren't so keen though lol.
Lovely to hear you had a wonderful holiday, and you were treated like family which is so nice, and I'm with you it's so good to get some warm sunshine into the old bones, I'm not looking forward to winter one bit, though the next 10 days are forecast warm and sunny.
Oooh visiting the grandkids in Scotland will be fab, will you drive or go by train?, I have family in Scotland, Banavie, which is near Fort William and Elgin, so occasionally take the train, well I think that's 4 of us who live close by then, as Gilly and Chloe are local too.
I'm doing ok, the usual bumps in the road, thank you Sarah, an easy week, just 6 appointments, MDT the following week, hoping for stable, enjoy your last day away and a safe journey home.

That's brilliant about the room as it'll make things so much easier for you. Oh and how lovely to be welcomed like family - they'll be looking forward to seeing you next time you go.
A trip to A and E for us yesterday afternoon! I'd noticed H's mucous was off colour, so no messing around as I suspected a chest infection. It was, plus a high temperature, so they did all the usual tests and discharged him along with antibiotics. He'd been hooked up to an IV most of the afternoon so no Wimbledon for us. I've upped the ante on mollycoddling as he's my poorly lad.
I hope it goes well with the nurse this week and maybe you can dust the cobbies off the wine bottle...
