Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi there LolaBear.
I enjoy watching vintage films too, especially 'kitchen sink' dramas from the 50s/60s. Up the Junction, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, etc., are quality viewing.
Have you ever seen Dulcima? It's based on a short story by H E Bates, starring John Mills and Carol White. I think it was released in 1971, in colour, and is a cracking film.
You've given me a great idea there to relax - I'll root on YouTube for sea sounds, waves and gulls crying. Brilliant, so thank you for that.
Take care,
Gill xx
Hi all
I quite often wake up sometime after 2am and then struggle to get back off and then end up getting up around 4am or so. On another forum I use we call it the WAC - Wide Awake Club.
I don't have any tech in the bedroom, I don't believe it's a good idea to have it so easily to hand but I sometimes sit up and read a book.
At the moment we are away in our motorhome and I usually sleep better but can still have some time awake in the early hours.
I hope you all sleep well tonight.
H
Good evening LolaBear and SBird.
You ladies are so lucky to own a motorhome! The thought of climbing onboard and heading off to the coast, before settling down for the night, is a long held dream of mine. I'd lie awake (what!) and listen to the sea for calming vibes. Lovely.
On the tech subject, I've tried not to let it invade my time too much but it's always lurking in the background, especially now.
I'm presently watching The Bargee (1964) on Talking Pictures TV. The channel is on Freeview and they show a load of old TV and films from my era in the olden days!
I'm not advocating the shows help me nod off as they don't, unfortunately.
I hope you both enjoy your travels whenever you get the opportunity. Lovely stuff!

Hi Gill H! Thanks for your kind words. You never know, one day you might have your own campervan...meanwhile, I also love Talking Pictures TV. We watch this a lot during the day and sometimes the night too. My other half even gets their monthly magazine which is good. The films do allow me to nod-off though. I keep the volume down and always ensure that it's something I've seen before, so I can just listen. It's kind of soothing....
Morning!
I discovered TPTV a couple of years ago and it's one of our go to channels. Quite a few films are shown in the early hours, so while that's fine for me, my H can't stay awake for too long, due to post RT fatigue and general tiredness. He's content for me to give a synopsis as we don't have recording facilities yet.
Oooh, I wish about the campervan but I never passed my test! I took lessons many years ago but was rubbish at gear changing so gave up.
If we ever come into money we could hire one. Along with a chauffeur!
Have a lovely day.
Gill xx
Thanks Gill, it's been quite good the last few days, I did start to listen to sleep videos on YouTube but then realised looking at the phone screen probably made it worse, I now have a routine and hour before bed where I don't use the phone or watch TV just listen to classical music and maybe write a little. So no heavy stuff before sleep. Like you I do wake up about 2am to use the toilet but manage to get back to sleep in about half an hour.
