Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • I tend to use Google scholar for more accurate info and the information is normally peer reviewed. Again still have to be careful and mindful.

  • Thank you. You are all being so lovely and supportive. I was not going to join or sign up. I had that thought what else can it offer. But the peer to peer support is been amazing. x

  • I wish I'd known about this site in the early days, as it's been a huge help, knowing others were going through it and all the support they give.

It was actually Google that brought me here in the first place Jamie, in a roundabout way but ultimately a good one.

Right, the washing up is calling, so laters folks xxx

  • I go to bed quite early as I feel tired, then end up restless with snatches of sleep.
Is that the experience of others?  Anybody live in Weston super Mare - we could meet up and go for a walkJoy

  • Good evening WsMSH and a very warm welcome to our group.

I'm afraid I never go to bed early, but do tend to nod off in my chair - that then wrecks it for the coming night but I never learn.

It would be lovely to go for a walk with fellow members, but the trek from West Yorkshire would probably finish me off first! Great offer though hon xxx

  • I am the same and its difficult to deal with. Hoping GP next week will offer something  now and then for those nights I really cant settled down like the last 4 nights. I am Leicester based so the walk is a little to far me haha. Although if I leave now might be with you for the summer months then haha. Seriously though it does seem a very common theme with sleep.
