Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Ray. I still send the odd handwritten letter, especially to companies or the doctor, as it often has more impact and is less easily ignored. You're right though, about losing formalities through modern communication, but I enjoy interacting with folk on a personal footing and using their first names. This particular 'one' wouldn't ever put pen to paper to the old guy who likes dressing up!
When I replied to your earlier post, there was one from Willowka? and I was just about to reply when it disappeared. I hope it comes back as it was really interesting and from a Geordie, too. I love their accents.
Last week you wrote how inspiring Eddie is, with his zest for travel, family and friends. Well although he said he might have had to return home last Wednesday, I'm really hoping he managed to get back to Greece and is there now, enjoying the sun and sea. He's a legend xx
There won't be any night owl chats tonight my friend, as planned maintenance will gag our beaks for several hours xxx
Good afternoon Willow and a very warm welcome to our friendly group.
I was going to reply to your post earlier but it went AWOL for some reason, but you're back now great stuff.
More of the Geordie chat please, as I love it! When I used to buy Viz comics, I'd read the speech bubbles in my head, but adopting my best toon accent. It made it all the more authentic.
Although she's no longer here, my mam will always be referred to as 'me mam'. Hugs to you xxx
Good afternoon all
I had a dental check up this morning, all good then we went to The Range to buy a replacement for a Santa light decoration that's broken. He moved from Liverpool with us 26 years ago so he's done well.
The crochet is out and this afternoon's Christmas movie is on.
H
Afternoon Helen, and all good to hear... apart from Santa We've got a small beany Santa who lives in a special matchbox. He's been around since my two were small, so clocked up a good 40 years now. He sends yours a thumbs up for his sterling work over many seasons.
A very early start in the morning for us for an ENT appointment, then home and probably a Christmas music channel for a while and a film later on. Enjoy yours xxx
PS I always come out of The Range with far more than I went in for!
All the talk of christmas movies has put me in the festive mood. We've just put some lights up outside. We have a huge christmas tree growing in the garden, the thousands of lights we put on definitely took longer to put up this year, we couldnt decide if round and round or up and down, in the end it was a mix of both as we lost the will. To top it all they went off. They're battery lights so hope its just dodgy batteries. A big sigh and we called.it a day. Will try new batteries tomorrow. In the mood to watch Love Actually. What's everyone's favourite christmas film? x
Good luck with the new batteries.
ELF is my favourite Xmas movie of all time.
Hi Beekeeper and here's hoping you get the tree lights sorted, as it will look just fab! We're feeling more festive by the day now, and once tomorrow's appointment's out of the way, I'll get trimmed up here
My favourite Christmas film is pretty obscure as it's rarely been screened on the telly. It's called The Sure Thing, starring John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga, from the early 80s. It's a road trip movie and quite funny. I've got it on DVD so might plonk it on later in the week.
Good luck with the tree lights and big hugs xxx
I have been watching Christmas movies for the last few weeks . enjoy your afternoon
Elf another on my list, we watch thst or Polar express when the grandchildren come for a sleepover. Funny and feelgood x
Hi Gill, never heard of thst one, I will try and find it. Hope the appointment goes well. Ihave mine tomorrow, first one with the consultant since having the scans. Hugs to you too xx
