Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Annette.

Well, I looked at the forecast for the next couple of weeks earlier on and the hot weather's meant to break, with plenty of rain showers.  That was for our area, so probably won't be the same for the east coast.  I gave up hoping for a storm a while back.  I was outside and about half a dozen raindrops fell - that was it!

Whatever the weather, don't let it spoil your holiday. You wrote something like, the sand between your toes drives away your woes.  That'd do for me!

  • Gill, we went to Northallerton yesterday, in the heat.  No queues at 'Bettys' - Woo-Hoo!!  It's not as expensive as it used to be, or is it everywhere else is dearer!

Saw this 'Aldi' type bag in a shop.

Also, on the way back we stopped in Richmond, this was painted on the side of a building.  I think it's great!

  • Morning Steve.

That mural is just fantastic!  I'd love to have that on the side of our house as we adore dogs and sheep, oh all animals.  I'll bet many folk have taken photos of it as has yourself.  Love it!

Now the other you sent brought a smile too.  This time last year our SiL turned 48 and we got him a card with the exact same pic on it.  I don't think he was annoyed - I hope not as his SOH might not be fully developed yet.  He's only a bairn.

    Thanks for supplying a boost!

    Gill xx

  • Hi Annette,I didn’t want to move but I have no choice. The house has to be sold so my sister can get her share of the money.I lived here with my late mum as I was her full time carer. It is a nice house it just needs some money spending on it and I don’t have any.More viewers are coming tomorrow and Tuesday so fingers crossed it sells soon.Love Jane x

  • Hi Jane, sorry for the delay in replying but I have been having problems on and off recently signing into the Forum!

I am so sorry you fared in that situation but I am sure when you find the right place with a garden you can tend too, you will then see it was meant to be.

We are in a Premier Inn on our way to Haven Blue Dolphin caravan park near Filey. As you see by he time, it doesn’t make any difference where I go to bed, I seldom sleep!

i am almost sure there is no WiFi in the individual caravans, which is not a bad thing as I w8ll get a proper holiday!! I hope by the time I get back, you will have sold your house and found the perfect house just for you!

    Love Annette x

  • Hi Sheelagh, sorry I’ve only just seen this. I’ve been awake since 2 and up since 430. I’m lucky to have a lovely garden so I’ve been outside pottering.

I’ve checked your profile and it looks like you are waiting results from your MRI scan …..

Happy to chat if you’re still awake.

    Hugs from West Wales x

  • Morning Deb. Yes, I've just done the same.  Poor Sheelagh, she's worried sick, obviously, but hopefully getting some sleep now.  If she returns later I'll be up for a chinwag too.  Sheelagh could hail from Wales too, as I'm sure the name's Welsh, but you'll be more savvy there.

Crack of dawn again, Debs?  I slept for over six hours which is a record of late.  I'm hoping it'll gear me up to seize the day.  See you later lass.

    Hugs, Gill xxx

  • Hi Deb,  I too got up in the end .  The MRI showed something suspicious on the other breast.so had another Ultrasound and biopsy.  I will hopefully get those results on Wednesday.  The waiting is so hard.  I can’t help wondering if I would have been better off not finding the lump in the first place.  I hope you are doing ok.  I live in Norfolk x

  • Yeah, speak later Gill … glad to hear you got some much needed Kip !

Yep Shelagh sounds Welsh … although being an Essex girl myself I’m not an authority lol.

I’ve lived all over, but a story for another day.

Hoping you and H have a good day. Tara for now.
