Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi debs
erll I had lung cancer both lungs four years ago surgery on both and followed by chemotherapy.
two years ago diagnosed with osteoporosis
was given pills to take but was not good because of acid reflux.
then was offered this infusion of zolendronic acid as it was going into bone
no explanation of how severe the side effects were so that’s how I’m at this situation and it’s crazy xx
Peggy, if you're still here, you need to see someone about all this pain. Are you on strong meds or morphine maybe? Are you under someone at the hospital? If so, contact them when they become available as you're not in a good place at the moment. Come back here anytime you want to as you're always welcome. If you have trouble navigating the site, Sarah, our lovely community champion, will help you with that. In the meantime, we'd like for you to get yourself sorted out properly. You've come to the right place to make friends my lovely, but we all want you to be out of pain so you can start to enjoy life better. Fingers crossed that can start very soon, today ideally. Sending you big hugs sweetheart xxx
Morning Peggy123 and welcome from me too.
I’m so sorry to read how much pain you’re in-it’s just awful to feel so bad you can’t sleep, but at least you’ve found some new friends here to chat to and share your worries with.
I see that you’ve joined the lung cancer group too, and that’s a really good place to ask questions of other people who have the same cancer and might be on the same treatments. In this chatty group here, people are patients with all types of different cancer and carers for partners etc, but might not have personal experience of the drug giving you the issues. If you can also post in the lung group, it will help get you more answers.
But the main thing is to get your pain dealt with, and rather than deal with your gp, the best people to get in touch with are the medics dealing with your cancer who prescribed the medication. Have you got a specialist nurse you can call this morning? You should have details of the nurse who has been assigned to you, so please call them this morning if you can to get some help. If you need any help with managing to get round the forum, just shout and I’ll be happy to help you out,
Sarah xx
Aw Sarah to the rescue again - you truly are a champion xx
Poor Peggy needs professional help with regards her pain, and I have no experience of chronic pain at all. In the nine months OH has been back home, he's only taken a few paracetamols. I ask him every morning how he feels and always get a thumbs up, apart from a few weeks ago when he went to hospital.
Thanks again lass, you're a star xxx
Morning Gill
Poor Peggy needs some help with her pain, and to get advice from her team. I know how difficult it is to live with pain, and it just wears you down. I’m just concerned she needs help from the professionals as we can’t know here about drugs and their effects, unless we have had the same treatment, and we don’t know the medical history-what might be suitable pain relief for one person might not be suitable for another.
I take enough drugs for my pain to be rattling(another prescription getting picked up today for 470 tablets for this month!) but the medic who prescribed the drug or his/her CNS needs to be the first port of call today.
I need to get on the move now as my foot care lady is coming early doors today to sort my feet out. She’ll make me smile-she is lovely and so kind!
Sarah xx
