Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

My friend sent me a gift of a heated throw when I was first diagnosed Gill, and it’s an absolute godsend, so cosy. I’m a cold fish, but it’s great to snuggle up under it and watch tv. I can set the temperature and timer and get nice and warm.
I’m so pleased for you having that piece of good news today-it’s such a boost for us when we get told positive stuff. Lovely!
Sarah xx
Ah Sarah, it's certainly given LOH the boost he needed. I said something today that made him laugh so much tears rolled down his cheeks. He can't really laugh - it's more a wheezing sound through his stoma, but his face crinkling up with genuine mirth was something I haven't seen for the longest time. It was probably better news than when he got the all clear, as I don't think he ever accepted that. But happy days today my lovely xxx
Hi Gilly, I should have mentioned if LOH family have a history of breast cancer, the BRCa genes 1 and2 have links with PCa too, I've just had a look on the prostate forum and all the recent members are curable, so I'm sure they're in good hands with the guys. The nurse doing the stats is due soon, and I can ask her to remind me to take my meds, I'm resigned to no sleep my friend so any I get is a bonus, did I mention hormone therapy gives you bosies, best not to go there, love Eddie xx
Oh that’s just fabulous Gill! Treasure that picture in your mind and I hope you’ll see it for real many more times. You just keep making him laugh-it’s good for both of you.
Sweet dreams and a special bosie tonight.
Sarah xx
That's really good to hear about the guys on the prostate forum Eddie, great stuff. I know what happens when men get HRT, so I reckon bras should be supplied by the NHS. I'd joked to LOH if he'd have to go down that route he could have my old ones. I think he's been spared. I do hope you manage some shuteye my friend, as you've got a hell of a journey coming up xxx
Awww thanks Stacy, and your welcome my friend, but it's nothing a night in hospital, nothing unusual for me, and missing a nights kip isn't an issue, I've been through worse since my Dx, and I agree it's nice to talk too fellow patients, and this is a rare treat for me, I'm usually in CC or Ob's, and the bond you felt for your fellow patients, sounds very similar to the closeness I feel for my fellow patients at the hospice, it's hard to describe, but I know tou will understand, and rules, what rules.
I think Lucifer was meant to be lighthearted, and not take itself too seriously and maybe ran a little too long, and I may give lord of the rings and hobbit a go, it's just some of my friends have said th last of the rings films is a big disappointment, poorly written? XX
Awww Gilly that was lovely to hear about LOH, with tears of joy running down his face, a wonderful precious moment, with many more to follow, and yes I have a fine pair of moobs, or should that be bosies, but don't tell anyone but Sheila is a little envious, yes my friend it's sleepy time night night xx
