Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Eddie. Yes, just a little break to catch up on the domestic front with things I'd been putting off, nothing drastic. So good to hear how your birthday tour went down and what a fantastic place Norway must be. And straight back up to Scotland! It's a good job you're retired as you never stop!
We were so lucky in that raffle because we knew nothing about it till we went to the centre last Friday. With LOH being in hospital we'd missed two exercise groups and hadn't realised last week's had been cancelled. We turned up but the centre was celebrating its 25th anniversary for palliative care and therapies, so we stayed and bought the tickets, wishing so much for the Filey prize as we've not seen the sea for years. Gob smacked doesn't come into it when I got a call yesterday saying that's what we'd won. The arrangements aren't done yet, but when they are, I'll be able to get travel plans in place. We're really looking forward to going on the train and soaking up all the scenery! The whole thing's like a breath of fresh air!
Now you enjoy your latest venture and take good care. Big hugs to you and yours xxx
Hi Helen. We have to wait till the owner, it's called Lola's beach house, gets in touch but there's no rush. Once we know I'll get cracking. I've looked online and it's gorgeous with two bathrooms and all mod cons. It's miles better than ours and I think we'll be barricading ourselves in! Do you reckon the forum could cope with resident squatters? Just kidding but now I'm starting to fret if something crops up in the meantime. I'll have to hope it doesn't. Anyway, welcome home to you both and enjoy your upcoming retirement. Fantastic xxx
Hi Gilly, not just lucky, but so deserving my friend, and what a boost for you both to have something so nice to look forward to, and Filey is fab, a lovely old fashioned Yorkshire gem, though I'm sure you've been there many times all through your life.
Well we've only been in Oban an hour, and Mandy and the boys have gone to bed, kids, lol,
love Eddie and family xx
It's us old timers (you've dropped into that bracket now) that need less kip. I'm having you on... you're a spring chicken compared to me, young man!
Aye, I've been to Filey a good few times but never stayed over, unless Cayton Bay counts? We camped there when I was a nipper and it was fab, even though I remember it chucked it down all week. Looking forward to seeing lots of dogs too, as it's very dog friendly. I can't shake off that something might put the brakes on though; I'm a proper glass empty type. Anyway, I'll attempt not to think like that and might go buy some new clobber for us both this Saturday.
When does your cruise start Eddie, and how long for? Your sea legs should be in good fettle after all the recent sailing. Get plenty of seafood down and enjoy! I could just wolf fish and chips at this very minute! Love from us two xxx
I think I've been an old timer a while now, no doubt some would say old fart, and sure you may have the lead on me chronologically, but how old you feel, I have you beat hands down lol, awww Gilly, we all live with that something might happen feeling, but It seldom does, and shopping therapy should fill that glass up a little, and there's no restrictions on our doggy friends now so you'll be spoilt for choice as to which ones to fuss over.
The "cruise," starts tomorrow, only 4 nights, but being with my aunties will make it extra special, and I'm going to be spending a lot of time with them over the next 3 months, fab,
love Eddie and Sheila xx
Great stuff Eddie, and please say hi to the aunties from me as they sound like two special ladies xx
The age thingy - I'm still 16 in my head but lines don't lie, and I'll bet you've not been accused of being Sheila's great-grandad. Lol! Yep, I'll go shopping and get a haircut too, or the gulls will try nesting in my Barnet.
Get your head down my friend, as you'll need to be fresh for the cruise and, I'll guess, to keep up with your sprightly aunties! Take care and have a fab time. Love from us to you all xxx
Oh Gill, I’ve just read about your raffle win, how fantastic! I think it is Karma and you were meant to be there that day when the class was off!
We were just outside Filey earlier in the year. It is lovely there and also Bridlington Beach is terrific! We are so lucky where we live, I couldn’t be away from the sea for long, I just love it. We can go about 40 mins in the car, east or west and be at the seaside, or 30 mins north we arrive at Loch Lomond! As long as there is water, I’m happy! Do you know where you will be staying? You will love the break and you both deserve it!
Love Annette x
