Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • I would take offence, but as it's you.  I'm only a bairn of 61.

  • A mere babe in arms, my friend.  My guess is you were born May '64. I possess mystical powers.  I don't really but just thought I'd throw it in the mix.

Keep those photos coming Steve; a magical mystery tour for us culture vultures xxx

  • 'Magic Meg' you are not!  It's February 1964.

It's foggy here now, a bit of a 'pea souper'.

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Aw come on - I was only three months out.  What do you expect for crossing my palm with 5p?

Anyway, fog's wonderful, especially when it's mysteriously cloaking mountains in its ethereal shroud (how's that for waxing lyrical?).  If it lifts a bit, a photo with some mist sagging over the peaks would be spot on.  If you ever decide to sell on said photos, I'll expect a generous commission to be heading my way.

    Until then, my address is...

Keep having lots of fun in the su...fog.  xxx

  • Hello all

We're in a small town called Fessenheim near the River Rhine, heading south for some better weather.

I've slept really well in the motorhome since we've been away Relaxed

    Hopefully you're all doing OK.

  • Afternoon Judith.

Well it's a competition between you and Steve... who's covering the most foreign soil.  I think he set off before you and Alan, so he's probably in the lead right now.

I looked up Fessenheim and, apart from obsessing about the doomed nuclear plant, it looks lovely.  Let us know your thoughts when you get home.  Ah, the weather - we've had a thunderstorm here, so must be similar where you are.  Definitely head south.

Great news you're sleeping well in the motorhome, so keep having a whale of a time.  Hugs to you both xxx

  • I agree with Gill, head south.  Had a big storm overnight in the hills around Sorrento.  Must be "something in the air" (who sang that!).

Back to dear old blighty tomorrow...Boo!!!

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Thunderclap Newman?  Appreciate the storms Steve, as they don't half clear the air - exciting, too.

Oh, dear.. homeward bound tomorrow.so we may have a case of post holiday blues to contend with. I suggest a parmo for your next tea to cheer you up, something tasty to get your chops round.

Enjoy your last night to the full xxx

  • Homeward Bound, that was Simon and Garfunkel wasn't it?

Got a nice Carbonara followed by a Parmigiana tonight.  Just finished the last bottle of wine.

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Yes, S and G. Just threw it in so you'll get an earworm tomorrow, but it is a great song.

The food sounds superb, but can it hold a candle to what I've had - potted meat sarnies? Or what my dad used to call it, potted dog. It might have come from his army days but dunno, really.  Anyway, I digress.  Get another bottle in Wine glassxxx
