Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Morning all

We have the excitement of flu jabs this morning.

do you have a letter from your oncologist with the contact number on? If so call it and ask to speak to the secretary, my oncologist's secretary has been very helpful for me.

Great advice for Dogdays to call the secretary, horrible not knowing what's going on.

Good luck with the flu jabs; I had one aged 17 and my arm resembled Popeye's a few hours after it, throbbed like hell for days so never again.

Once you've got over the excitement treat yourselves to breakfast out perhaps. Have a good one xxx

I have one every year due to the diabetes and never had a problem. Probably shouldn't have said that Rofl

No letter, but a sticker in the ICS booklet on breast cancer (which is mainly about aspects that are totally irrelevant to me such as wigs, makeup, interaction with family members, social life ... ). This has some phone numbers including the surgeon's, who is in overall charge of my case, and his secretary, plus some breast care nurses. Hard to know who to call. TBH if I am supposed to be having surgery in 4 weeks I was expecting to receive an appointment letter by now for the ultrasound. As I can't get to Dublin in the mornings, that may need to change as well.

I had my flu and Covid jabs recently, no problems at all. At least that went well.

Just had a video sent to me of my dogs enjoying their first run of the day, so I feel better than I did a few hours ago.

They are looking fine and happy. Lots of tail wagging.

  • She looks gorgeous.

  • Saw this little fella on a walk by the canal in Mirfield wearing his best autumn coat.

I'd definitely try getting hold of the surgeons secretary.

  • You do right Helen, get yourself protected. If you've never had an adverse effect go for it, you'll be fine xxx
