Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Gilly, just a quick word,"I'm on holiday ", LOH = lovely other half xx

  • Sorted Eddie.  Now get back to your holiday and that's an order! Joy xxx

  • Morning Lulo, and welcome to the forum, though I'm sorry you have to be here and the reason why, I'm not sure why you've not had a reply yet, but I'm sure the guys will will do soon, as we all know how awful broken sleep is and in our situation it's not unusual, but most of us with help will find a  way through it,  and I hope this wonderful group can help you through this  difficult time.

  • Hi everyone hope you’re all ok, I’ve just had my last pre chemo chemo, I’ve got the marker scan on Monday ready for the chemoradiotherapy to start on the 22nd.

quick question can I mention other charities in the forum? No bother if not just search on the web free cancer care packs and they’ll be there.
I follow an influencer on TikTok Alex she’s 26 and diagnosed with breast cancer anyway in one of her reels she mentioned a free cancer/chemo care package she got sent, I ordered one and it’s amazing crammed full of all useful stuff.. I thought they were a really good idea, and worth a mention, specially for anyone struggling financially. Or anyone like me that just wanted a little pick me up.

for the football fans amongst us, international break this week, I’m looking forward to having the family round and pizza snacks and nibbles probably more than I am about watching us play but hey let’s see what happens lol x

  • Hi Chloe

You can mention things in the forum, and linking to recognised UK charities is fine, but links to social media sites are not allowed as they are unmoderated. I don’t have TikTok myself, but the cancer care package sounds really good and useful so hopefully others who would like one will be able to find it.

  • Hello all from a little town called Rodemack in Eastern France, near the German border. The weather has been glorious today and we've explored the town and the Citadel.

Unfortunately I had some stomach issues yesterday but a bucket full of loperamide helped Joy.

I have been sleeping well, as usual in the motorhome.

With regard to instruments I did learn to play a ukulele in primary school Relaxed.

  • The holiday sounds wonderful and will be even better when your stomach completely calms down. I'm not familiar with Rodemack but have been within 30 miles of that region when en-route to Bordeaux from Germany in 1967 or thereabouts with parents for our summer holiday. I think that was the year that the weather was so bad on the west coast that we trekked across to San Tropez in convoy with an elderly British couple with an Austin Cambridge who had had the same idea. My parents kept in touch with them for many years after. Thanks for nudging my memories. Wishing you a fabulous holiday. Ray x
