Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Siiigh! Tech issues with reply so am here.
@dogdays I never forget your autism hun. That is why I asked what you would find helpful. So called 'obvious' solutions may not be solutions at all.
What are the issues with your house? Does it need you or do you need it?
Cheers
MABS are not great, I dealt with them years ago and was not impressed. Also, I am a former accountant so pretty finacially savvy. I've already tried for a temporary medical card, my GP applied so I don't know how they assessed that without knowing my financial circumstances!
I can't get the fuel allowance as for the self-employed, they look at 12 month's 'income' (not profit after tax, which is actually mine). Outrageous!
I will be contacting my TD this week.
There is a funding scheme to help with travel costs, but those are minimal at the moment. It's the up-to-€80 a month prescription charges, dog care charges, and the business bills that are fixed regardless of any income that are an increasing problem.
My home insurance doesn't cover me for 5 weeks not occupied. It is not in sight of any neighbours so theives would not be seen unless there was a rare car passing. I need to have lights put on and run the heating (if the oil isn't stolen).
But above everything else, it is my sanctuary, my safe place and I rarely leave it - maybe a few days from time to time, not 5 weeks! I will feel like I am in prison.
Familiarity is helpful. Familiarity in people, places, even TV programmes I watch. Of vourse the dogs score hoghly in this but they are gone, for now.
This whole cancer situation is NOT familiar and is causing me major problems of fear, uncertainty, lack of my normal emotional supports and my whole world being tipped upside down and shaken very hard. It is probably the same for all of us, regardless of support.
Everything you describe paints a picture of the feelings all of us have. We found it so hard at the beginning. Give yourself permission to feel all those things without judgement or recrimination. Be kind to yourself and say **** to the big C.
Hello Gill.
I really hope that you have had a much better day?
Your comment about the lava simmering has really made me laugh. I have felt like that over the last couple of days. It’s like the top is about to come off the volcano, awaiting a big eruption.
Life can be hard at times, what with one thing and another. Sending hugs. xx
Evening Kez ️
My inner volcano has settled back down to dormant status...now. Earlier today I erupted yet again with OH and then had to mop up the pyroclastic flow that spewed all over the shop.
Not all the above is true hon, but the lousy mood was as I detest being left in limbo - if the hospital doesn't ring about the ultrasound by early afternoon then I'll ring them and give 'em a nudge.
You try to keep your lid firmly in place my sweet, as raging bull tempers aren't advisable. They absolutely wear me out as a lot of effort goes in!
Enjoy your evening hon, and have a couple of these and one for good luck
xxxx
