Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi dog days
Lol thats so funny, l find, don't you feel not the least bit better for the sleep !!
My old mum used to do that repeatedly watching Die Hard the movie and she never did seem to watch it all the way through had it on VHS....
Why she felt that film might help her sleep l will never understand
I have another week or so before the side effects calm down, and my energy levels are creeping up again. Sleep - I drop off very quickly, sometimes waking up with the phone still in my hand, the radio still on and the overhead light in my eyes. It's worse when I have to get up at 6 am for a 7 am pickup or have to drive myself to an appointment in the next county, where the department opens at 8 am.
The weekend is great, because no work emails come in so I can be lazy and sleep late. Or not.
This IT I'm so bad l couldn't pass my own voice recognition test the other day
But l don't think robots will take over the world as we just have to pull the plug out most likely??
Also once l was online payment to a mail order catalogue where you say the amount you want to pay and everytime l went to say the amount my cat jumped up said meow and the automated service said confirm you want to pay one thousand pounds...
I had to put my cat in another room to make payment.....
So a robot takeover can be defeated by cats remember this folks The Purrminator will save us ......
Aww that's the worst the lights in the eyes, l got so tired once I thought l picked up the phone ringing on the floor by the bed and it was a shoe !!
How you feeling this evening
Actually better than usual, I had a tricky job to finish and deliver, and had rashly promised it by 4 pm today. (The client is in Italy, so an hour ahead.) I transmitted it at 3.40 and felt elated, for the first time in months. A strange stretching of my lower face was identified as SMILING.
Of course, I had exhausted myself so the energy soon drained out and I have been resting since.
How was your day?
Maybe I'm getting over philosophical in my old age but l was in a charity shop today and a woman in front of me just paid for a very nice warm coat then she looked at it and there was a small tear near the seem. She said to the staff l want a refund. I said what a shame its a lovely coat couldn't you sew a little motif over it or a button to make it look like its part of the design?
No she said l want a perfect as new coat.
It made me think of the journey through cancer either having treatment or the person who is with you going through your journey.
Maybe on this site we don't mind a tear in the coat, we patch it up cosy up and walk on through the rain in our favourite coat. My hubby wasn't well our life was changed but he had his chemo we patched the coat as it were and were cosy together in our journey. We patched up our life and it was still beautiful despite the patches, holes sickness etc. There is always hope and the journey is everything.
If you are a battered version of you thats ok underneath you are still that pretty girl with the summer wind in your face or the cheeky lad sitting outside that pub watching the world go by...
Sending hugs to anyone struggling this evening xxx
