Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hello, I got through today but some problems persist without a solution. A year ago I would have dealt with all this without blinking, but now everything seems too difficult and impossible to resolve.

I think I will feel more positive when these side effects eventually wear off ... I just need to be patient.

Thank you. I know I am being selfish and self-indulgent especially as others on here have bigger problems and frustrations.

I am sharing this image for those that need to let off steam.!

Coincidentally Ray, leaping from high up stuff was a favourite dare between me and my mates. As luck would have it a nearby building site provided an ideal playground.

My mam would go up the wall when I came in covered in clay and mud. She'd have gone further if she'd known how I got in that state. Halcyon days...

  • Gill! How the hell did you manage to snap that pic of me yesterday?!!

  • Love it!

    Excellent Thumbsup

    Cheers

Waiting lists are outrageous! It's the same here, 2 years ago I had a bad sciatica attack. Waiting time for physio, 9 months! I said that a lot of people could create a new human being in that time, went private for €50 and was seen in days! But not everyone has spare cash.

Rofl I just took a selfie lol!

It sounded like you were feeling similarly hacked off!

  • Gill across the water: Brilliant. That made me laugh.

You are not being selfish or self indulgent. We all have problems but they are not graded. To each individual they are major, that's mostly why we are here. xxx

On the plus side, I had a wasp and a butterfly in the lounge this morning. Fuelled by the desire to destroy the wasp rather violently to make sure it didn't sting me in its death throes, I lost it and for all I know it is now lurking, with a new plan to attack me.

I turned my attention to the butterfly, opened the window, caught it, then released it into the garden. A much calmer and pleasant situation.

I get a lot of butterflies in the house, often overwintering in cupboards.

A simple 'thank you' seems inadequate ... but thank you.
