Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • It so much shows your strength that you are able to reach out for help. I'm sorry you were distressed but it has happened to us all, that feeling of fear, anxiety and panic. We have a cat who owns u and deigns to give us some of his time, but he doesn't s a little ball of fun. Always feel you can come on here and let go of your feelings and worries. These gorgeous people have got me through soe difficult times and made me laugh out loud. Loads of love Uki Heart️

  • Daisy. He is gorgeous.

  • Hello folks!

Can I say there must be something in the tap water. There is a positive storm of Poop being heaped  upon folks from every direction making it hard to give out ease when we are so full of spikes our selves.

Part of the Poop is this site's functionality!! The tech bod has not reached out to me as arranged. I expected an email so I will chase this up!

    Cheers

  • Hi Sophsea. My OH has been through the chemo tunnel of fun.My advice is to hydrate alot, rest, stock up on little snack treats (healthy of course) bring the duvet downstairs and above all be kind to yourself and let your body heal. Some great sage on here, probably Gill who always gives me good advice, said your body will be closed for maintenance. Don't put up with people wanting to bother you if you're not up to it and avoid people who cock their head to one side and talk to you as though you've only got seconds to live.

    Loads of love Uki.

  • A belated welcome from me. Lovely to have your input and sorry to hear of your current struggles.

Site issues apart, folk here are fabulous with a wealth of knowledge and experience of life along the cancer journey as a patient or loved one and may have particular specialisms such as Garibaldis or Muller corners.

    Cheers

  • Wave have you got a Coffee? Ok have some Cheeseand Cake and chocolate Chocolate barand Ice cream and some of these HuggingHuggingHuggingHuggingHugging

You also get the current Trophy for not attacking the team at the appointment yesterday ... please convene a meeting with our SWOT team if in retrospect you feel direct action might still being relevant.

Btw ... you are so far in credit with the giving here that apologies for a couple of hours off are entirely unwarranted.

    Cheers

  • Wave so ... Are you able to say what prompted last night's feelings of despair?

I know you feel lack of responses keenly. I know at times we cling on to sanity by fingernails that are too short for the job.

I also know that in clearer phases you know everyone here offering support have their own needs and issues which sometimes mean they aren't around when we could really do with them.

I also know that you knowing this doesn't help you at pulling your hair out and sobbing into your pillow time Joy

So I am topping up your store cupboard supply of these HuggingHuggingHuggingHuggingHuggingHuggingHugging and these Chocolate barChocolate barChocolate barChocolate barChocolate barChocolate bar and I have boiled the kettle for when you are ready for a Coffee

    Cheers

  • Thanks Gill  He certainly does.  I don't know what I would have done without him during Covid as I couldn't see my parents as they live in Waterford.  I'm doing ok.  I got my appointment letter today for what I hope are my results.  The appointment is on Wednesday next at 2 pm. xxx
