Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Helloooo! Wave ooh You reckon you got a case of the Borrowers in your house?

Recently had a spate over a few days of leaving my purse in a store, unbeknownst for days, leaving keys in a taxi and losing my bank card! I felt like life was unraveling!

    Cheers

  • Evening Shimmers.

Yep, here's the baton in case any latecomers swoop in.

I don't know about writing my many questions on my thigh as they're all women at the clinic. Anyway yes, I've stuff to ask.

Righto pet, I'll try for snooze and I think Gill has done a famous crash so you might be left high and dry. Don't stay up too long yourself.

Nighty night,  dream of Ray's cake cos I will. Sleep well hon xxx

  • Hi hun I hope you are sleeping. Heartburn... it's an evocative term but used so casually to describe a bit of discomfort that it's lost some of its oomph!

After my surgery to remove my stomach I was surprised to discover acid was a major player! A volcano errupted as the permitted spoon of sludge representing food came towards my lips.

(Until we interfere with eating and digestion we don't really give much thought to the intricacies of how it works, as long as it does Slight smile)

Anyway I was told I needed to have a spoonful of 'gaviscon' the second the sludge entered my lips.

Great plan ... except the meds round came maybe two hours after the food ... so when a nurse was distracted I purloined the bottle.

Staff were alarmed and tried to disagree every time I pointed out that I was keeping it as it was self administered.

Was I going to antacid myself to death? Joy

Hope you get on top of your situation. I needed many pillows etc

    Good luck

  • Doh! Happy Hamster time. My posts are repeated and appear in several places in the thread!

    Cheers

  • Ooh you've just popped up! Joy not what the Hamster changed that to

Go get snoozing. Nyt sweet dreams

  • As no one has posted for a while I hope you are all sleeping .

Murphy's law will mean as soon as I say nyt, someone will arrive.

    Nyt sweet dreams

Yes, crashed in the usual spectacular fashion, woken up with the phone still in my hand. Rolling eyes Of course, it looks deserted here, with the lights out, but at least I've had a little more sleep.

I know it's me ... many years ago I had lodgers and during a similar manic episode one of them said she felt she was being accused of being involved in the disappearance of something. I was quick to point out my long history of losing things (luckily only in the house, not outside it) when I lived alone and had no recent visitors!

So this was not unusual, although in recent years I have tried to 'have a place for everything' but that goes wrong when I drop something, forget that I dropped it, and it bounces under the furniture.  Rolling eyes

Now I am looking at a small cut on the inside of my ankle and wondering how that happened. Maybe I am now losing my mind as well.  Upside down

Yes, I have had that 'prove you are human' message several times over a short time - did they not believe me the first three times?  Thinking

(Bizarrely, at a dog show last year I was asked if I was gay because I always 'arrive at the venue on my own'. Still trying to work out the connection between travelling alone and being gay. Which I am not, incidentally.)

Not sure Ray's cake looks coffee flavour, but that though stops my drooling as I cannot stand coffee, even though I like the smell.

  • We've got the dreaded ENT clinic early afternoon

    I hope that goes well.
