Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

It's been devoured - can't find it Shims so I'm bowing out.
I did try to say that the mood here has improved massively as mother hasn't put in an appearance since she threatened to. The second she does it will deteriorate immediately as she really is that bad. Unfortunately for us her treasured diary can be sparse at weekends as her cabal has other distractions. I'm praying like mad it'll chuck it down as she doesn't like getting wet!
Ok hon, that's me done as my temper's rising with all the delays and mucking about, so I'll say nighty night and sweet dreams xxx
I did ask OH about the Irish band but that'll save. Nyt hon xxx
I think we need soft mallets to bang when we get cross. Ha, in my union office I had one that made a resounding 'thud' sound and I had a fairy wand that made twinkling chimes when waved. One or the other was appropriate for most of my phonecalls
Grrr got dumped out but found my reply! So I agree time to say nyt.
Sweet dreams
Thanks Gill.
We had a good chat about Christmas plans with my daughter so that was fun! She was also telling us about 'Inspector Sands' on the London tube. It's something about calling for help with a potential fire. She laughed and said she got on a tube and got out of there!!
My younger daughter is also moving back home for a while, to rethink career plans so that's something to look forward too as well.
I look forward to your interesting tips about walking round the hospital Gill!!
Julie xx
Morning Julie ️
Great news about youngest moving back in for a while! Good company and possibly a little helper while you get yourself settled back in at home, so definitely something to look forward to.
Before I give you any crackpot ideas, is your isolation confined to a specific area around where you're based hon? OH's wasn't so I had free rein to get him moving, much as he really didn't want to but he'd no option with me on his case! One of my goals now is to get him to straighten up as he's adopted a definitive stoop! Quasimodo with the gait of an ancient geezer but it's got to stop as he's only just turned 62!
Anyway hon, never mind my piffling probs but how are you this morning? Feeling ok-ish? Appetite still alive? It's vital to keep your stamina up, so force yourself into a routine to keep your engine ticking over. A bit rich coming from lump here, but I'd love you to be as fit as poss so come Christmas you'll be able to celebrate with your family, freshly rejuvenated. That's a plan to strive for.
I'll let you get on hon, as a morning lecture isn't most folks idea of easing into the day... the drill sergeant coming out
Blue skies here Julie, but very nippy, so keep comfortably warm, get yourself something to occupy your mind and maybe a teensy wander to the exercise machine later on. Hugs coming to your temporary abode and the very best of everything for today xxx

Thanks Gill. I'm confined to the corridor I'm afraid. Just 6 isolated rooms so really small!
Feeling a bit sick this morning. Had anti-sickness meds but not kicking in yet. Need my breakfast toast now. It's very late! Weekend staff I guess!! I had to hit the ginger biscuits a few minutes ago!
I'll get up and shower after breakfast, find some to do! OH and daughter coming at lunchtime so looking forward to that.
Ooh, I can hear the tea trolley!! xxx
Good Morning Julie (Julie2468 )
In one hospital I was in the breakfast toast had the thinnest slices I have ever seen. You could almost see through them!
The first morning I was on that ward the "breakfast lady" was amazed when I asked for 8 slices. After that she got ready for me each morning and shouted
"8 toast, 4 marmalade, 4 butter"
every time she arrived at my bed!! Well I am a growing lad .
I hope you are feeling better soon!!
Kind regards - Brian.

Back on the site! I was thrown out yesterday morning - logged out! And I didn't know my PW! Very upset that I couldn't get in, especially last evening/night. I only had 3 hours' sleep last night (but the kitchen is much tidier!). Luckily, I was able to email the Moderator here as we had a (friendly) exchange recently over something that violated the community rules (absolutely not intentional). The odd thing is, I was still getting the email notifications.
Anyway, I have managed to log on with a new password, which I will record securely in case this happens again.
Missed everyone! Will be catching up on replies over the past 24 hours when I've done some urgent work.
Hello Gill (Dogdays )
I am pleased to see you are back and are all sorted.
something that violated the community rules (absolutely not intentional).
There is a link to the Community Guidelines at the top of the page. They are their for everyone's safety and security and it's easy to post something that's outside the guidelines (even I have been on the naughty step ).
It's good to know you have some work as not only is working good for your mental health whilst you are working you are not spending money!!
Best wishes - Brian.
