Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Thank you my kind friend. Sorry for the delay in replying and even sorrier if I've disturbed you, but I was just doing my laddo's bedtime routine. No, not that - neb, stoma care etc. He's settled now, so I had a look at ways of muzzling commentators. One is for surround sound but we don't have that, so another was using the Sky app, which I've got. Will have a go tomorrow. I got well into reading all the comments, berating the presenters, and hardly any said they enjoyed listening to talking heads, waffling on. Deffo not the only ones.
Don't worry, I was joking about the concrete as I love greenery, even though being jackknifed to pull the weeds out was killing my back. Surprisingly I'm not aching - yet.
Aw, glad Sheila's home again, so I'll wish you both a very good night xxx
Hi Gilly, no need to apologise, family always comes first, did you have any luck with fanzone, I think you would have liked that, and I'm not surprised you found loads of people unhappy with the quality of commentators, and not just in football. I did read the instructions on how to mute commentators, which seemed simple enough and I never thought for a second you'd concrete the garden, you love wildlife too much. Well we've been in bed an hour and I'm shattered, and the old girls asleep so I hope to join her soon. XX
Hi Eddie and I won't keep you two minutes. I typed in Fanzone, and this is verbatim, 'Fanzone is taking a break', so I just started scrolling around. I'll get into it properly tomorrow.
Yes, I adore wildlife and was very careful not to tread on any little crawlers when I was yanking and chopping weeds. If I ever do accidentally finish one off, the guilt is off the scale, honestly.
Get some sleep and join Sheila in her wisdom. Night night xxx
Evening all-I’m already in my bed and have been for a while so am highly likely to nod off!
The eating of cake has been a thing, and a scone with jam and cream, so I am on the naughty step! We had forgotten we were invited out by our neighbour for a charity “do” on Sunday afternoon but she reminded us the night before so we did actually go! We had a lovely afternoon tea, and were the youngest people there Won a lovely fleecy throw in the raffle, and enjoyed some nice company.
Today we had an early start for a funeral down south, and got back here at half four, both exhausted. I slept in the car on the way home, but still tired. There was a lovely buffet afterwards and although there were no chocolate eclairs, I did have a slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake. Back on track with appropriate eating from tomorrow.
Annette, I’ll message tomorrow, apologies for the delay.
Hope everyone’s doing ok today.
Sarah xx
Hi fellow night owls, new here! Was rubbish at sleeping anyway but turns out coming off hrt and having a sore boob doesn't help Just saying hi incase anyone is still awake out there . Clare x
Hi Clare and a warm welcome to our group.
I hope you're not too uncomfortable, but if you're rubbish at sleeping, like me, you'd probably be awake even if you wasn't. Did you understand that cos I'm not sure I did?
Anyway, What's on your mind hon, and is there anything you'd like to chat about? I've got Now 70s on the telly, in the hope it'll get me off, but it's not working.
Gilly xxx
Hi Gilly, thanks for the reply! I understood every word, and yes to both sore and rubbish at sleeping lol. I did just post a question in one of the forums (first time here, not entirely sure what I'm doing!). Had a seroma drained today, but not with a syringe like I was expecting, just wondered if anyone had any idea why? But happy to chat about any old rubbish really. Not sure now 70's is ideal as bedtime lullaby material to be honest lol xxx
Hi again Clare. Yep, you're right about the music. I did start watching a film about Peter Sellers' life story, but gave up on it - boring.
Ouch! That procedure sounds painful, but I'm pretty ignorant about these things, not being one of the sufferers. I'm my fella's carer, that's why I joined, last January after his discharge from hospital. He was in over three months, and I spent all that time on my tod. I wish I'd have known about the forums then, but when I was scrolling around, that's when I found them. Best thing I ever did. How about yourself? Is that what got you here, or were you told by someone? xxxj
