Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi again Twirly.

We had a chat several days ago, and I'm really pleased for you that things are going well with your recovery.  Good news about the lymph nodes.  Not so good about you struggling to sleep though, and has the pain eased up any? I hope so.  Call in anytime you fancy a chat as Annette, Eddie and myself are often floating around at times only crackpots keep.  As they've already said, it's mainly anxiety that keeps folk from sleeping properly and the lack thereof, adds to it.  Get as much rest as you can, to further enhance your recovery hon.

Back to pulling up weeds for me, and my hayfever's kicked in now.  Grrrrr Persevere Hugs my lovely xxx

  • Afternoon Helen.

Is it tomorrow when you're getting off?  If it is I'm not surprised Alan was awake at that time as I'd be too excited to sleep as well.  Here's a suggestion - if the pair of you can't sleep tonight, bunk down in the motorhome and set off first thing.  Or maybe not, as you might sleep in!

Anyway, enjoy your holiday to the limit and have a fabulous time! Bring back virtual frog's legs and sauerkraut so we can enjoy - not!

    Bon Voyage xxx

  • Hi Gilly, I had a quick look at fanzine, I think it may have changed, and not for the better, I'm not sure it's even free anymore. But there are a couple of ways to mute the commentary whilst keeping the stadium noise, yippee. XX

  • Aw flip but thanks for looking Eddie.  Are you allowed to post how to mute the studio commentary out?  I'll bet loads would do it if they could, cos it certainly won't be just us.

I spent an hour in the garden/jungle, and shuffled back inside like Quasimodo on crutches. Honestly, if I could I'd order a mixer full of Trumix cement and get the whole area concreted over, apart from the trees. Can't wait for biting cold weather to slow it all down. And Scouse have just won again. Japanese goblin

Soz Eddie, I'll cheer up and leave the garden till tomorrow xxx

  • Gilly try fanzone 1st, if it has changed , type, can you watch syy sports without commentary, and you'll be shown 2 ways. And well done tidying up the garden, I'm sure all the effort has made a huge difference and I hope you treated yourself to a long soak in the bath to bring you back to the land of the living.  You know I'm jealous you can spend an hour gardening, I'm lucky to find 5 minutes of pottering in Sheila's. Put your feet up lass and treat yourself.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Hi Gill

Yes, we set off in the morning, 7:50am ferry from Dover (15 minutes drive from here).

I've been to a baby shower this afternoon, another American import, and drank too much wine so I've had a nap this evening Sleeping

  • Thanks Eddie.  I've done just as you ordered and wolfed down two choc éclairs, loaded with cream (sorry Sarah). I'm now sated and relaxed.  The jungle doesn't look a whole lot better as there's just too much to do.  I'll do it a bit by bit and by the time I get down to the nitty gritty, it'll be winter and the weeds, etc should wither naturally.  And then I'll order the concrete.

Are you still at Mandy's or is Sheila home?  You need to get as fit as possible, what with the Ayr trip coming up.  I'll have a butchers at those tips you gave.

    Love Gilly and LOH xxx

  • Evening Helen.

Not long now. You must be sick with excitement.  Whoa! Not sick, I should have said giddy - don't want to fire up the magic toast again.  At least you've kipped off the wine so you shouldn't feel queasy travelling.  Why do I keep banging on about feeling gippy?

Enough of that nonsense!  Sending hugs down to Kent and have a brilliant time.  Don't forget the sauerkraut!  xxx

  • I'd better be careful what I say, if your just going to do it lol. Wise words my friend, do what you can when you can, gardening is supposed to be fun, and we'll have no talk of concrete, not even jokingly, and yes I'm home with Sheila who's had a better weekend than me, never mind next week will be fab getting away Thursday, no Sheila sadly, so will have to make do with my three lady friends, and I'm happy to help re sky.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Have a wonderful time away, Helen, I hope it's everything you wish for.

    Eddie xx
