Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Thank you so much. I bought a one-acre site with a derelict, traditional cottage on it and did a self-build, wood-frame (inside skin, breeze block on the outside plus cement rendering) house with high 'green' credentials, so it looks like the old cottage at the front, but is more modern at the back. This year the land has gone back to wild bog as I was not permitted to do any grass cutting (risk of tick bite) so it looks a bit rough. And the house is not tidy inside!
This pic was taken this morning, of the back, which faces south so warms the main downstairs rooms (open plan) when the sun is out, plus a little warmth upstairs.

Wowsers! Loving the huge picture window and imagining the views it affords across the seasons. I request a winter one, taken from indoors if it snows or frosts, please
I'm currently watching Homes Under the Hammer, but the properties on offer have nothing on yours! Lovely jubbly xxx
Not much snow or ice here as it is generally mild, but I will take a pic when it happens. I've had a quick look through my photos but can't find one.
The view to the south is mainly trees where peasants nest, and foxes and hares live, and I have mink nesting in the garage (now derelict, that's another story!). It's relatively cheap to buy out here in the countryside, although I did the build at a time when rip-off builders were rife around 18-19 years ago so it probably cost me more than it should have. I lost my 'proper' job in the middle of it so it's never been finished, although it's now paid for and I had the original poor quality, rotting double glazing replaced last year.
Well to my eyes it looks no less than perfect, and you should be proud of making it so, regardless of the rip-off builders.
You've got a fabulous collection of wildlife and must love to watch their antics, I know we would, but maybe consider giving the local peasants their marching orders!
I know, I know, spell check thinking it knows better than yourself It made a right howler for me last month and I got ribbed about it. All good fun.
Hope I've not held you up from your work sweetheart, but many thanks for the superb photos xxx
Yes, I've never seen a video here before, so that's a pity. I showed OH the photos and you got a firm nod of approval and 2 thumbs up
Enjoy your lunch xxx
I think I know what Shimmers' post meant but I'm still learning the interesting 'angles' in her posts. Sometimes I do not quite catch them, hence the catheter lecture .
As for lurking, yes, probably true. After the catheter replacement, middayish on Wednesday, the euphoria quickly subsided as I got to grips with constant redness and aches for 12 hours. I did not go to bed until 5am i.e Thursday morning, Yesterday mid afternoon a clot rushed through the tube, followed by normality. The evening saw a slight relapse, so another paracetamol was taken before bed at 1am. I was slow getting up today but things are continuing to mend. A bit of shopping to do very soon, then I'll look in again. xxx
Ray, I hope all the readjustments hurry up and sort themselves out hon, and that you're not overly perturbed? I know you know what action to take but it's still a concern until things return to normal. Maybe catch up on sleep and rest when you've got your shopping done.
Now I think Shimmers must own a magic phone as I never know if others are lurking cos nothing pops up on mine, not that I'm aware of.
Oh, the post early doors where Shims mentioned you, followed by 'i love you the best', or wtte, had me guffawing out loud! And it was written in bright blue text! I almost wish she'd left it like that for the lols
Anyway, take it easy when you go shopping hon, and award yourself some fridge and larder treats as rewards for a bit of a dodgy few days xxx
Afternoon all
We're on our way home. We've stopped at a pub stop near Derby called The Clock Warehouse where we can stay overnight for free as long as we have a meal in the pub - such a hardship

They were doing some publicity photos while we were having a drink and told us to help ourselves to mince pies & shortbread when they'd finished, they didn't need to tell us twice
